The Honorary Consulate of Norway is a representative office governed by an honorary consul, a citizen of the hosting State not directly involved with a diplomatic career, acting on request of the represented state after having received a permission from this latter called "exequatur". It carries on bureaucratic functions - not of international law - and its activity is regulated by the provisions contained in the 1963 Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
